Since becoming pen pals with an Air Force tanker pilot in primary school, Austin has been an aviation fanatic. After joining VATSIM in mid 2011, he mostly flew for various virtual airlines in the famed FSX default 737-800. In 2013 he joined his first network partnered VA, and ventured into the payware addon realm, upgrading his trusty default plane for the famed PMDG 737NGX. Austin joined BVARTCC in mid 2017 as a controller, and since January 2019 oversees the media output for BVARTCC as the Social Media Manager.
In mid 2018, Austin’s experiences in BVA inspired him to pursue his private pilot certificate. The knowledge gained through BVA, and the mentorship from fellow pilot members was invaluable during his time at his local flight school. He received his certificate in July 2018, and has enjoyed the opportunity to fly and share his love of aviation with his friends and fellow members of BVA. Austin currently works in the automotive engineering field for a Big Three auto-manufacturer, and volunteers as an organizer for FlightSimExpo.
